STAND Mini Grants: Bring Global Solidarity to Your Campus

In a world facing climate breakdown, inequality, and conflict, small acts of solidarity can have a big impact. STAND is offering Mini Grants of up to €400 to help student unions, student clubs/societies and staff run events that explore global justice, sustainability, and active citizenship on campus.

Plan your event to coincide with STAND Global Solidarity Week
TUD – 13–17 Oct
UCD – 20-24 Oct
IADT – 10–14 Nov
Queen's Belfast - 26-30 Jan

Your event could be a talk, a workshop, a performance, screening,  cultural exchange, or something completely different. We’ll help cover costs like materials, refreshments, or guest speakers.

At a time of overlapping crises, create a space to stand with our global community.

Who can apply?:

The mini grants are only open to societies, student unions and staff residing on the island of Ireland and studying/working in TU Dublin, UCD,  IADT and Queen's.

Why should I apply?

  • Stand together for change on campus: Use your university as a hub for action that raise awareness about a global issue that concerns you.
  • Amplify global voices in your community: Create events where students, staff, and local partners can listen to stories perhaps seldom heard.
  • Turn campus solidarity into real impact: Channel campus energy into projects that act on global challenges.
  • Join a network of those standing up for global solidarity: Become part of the STAND community, mobilising third-level students and staff to create positive global change.

What are the criteria for applying?

  • All events must take place on campus.
  • All events must promote  theme related to global justice or global solidarity. Examples include climate action, international human rights, fair trade,  migration & belonging, global health, peacebuilding, global inequality.
  • Where possible, events should also encourage imagination - promoting or offering a vision of a brighter, fairer, or more just future  (even if that future does not yet exist) All events must be free of charge and hosts must not financially profit from the event.
  • Recipients will be required to sign a contract on receipt of funding with stipulations including, but not limited to: GDPR compliancy, agreement to produce receipts for all purchases made with funding, agreement to produce 300 word reflection on event and photographic evidence of the event going forward.

How will my application be processed?

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Grants are awarded first-come, first-served, based on alignment with Festival themes and available budget.
