Save the date: Second meeting of Global Citizenship Education Higher Education Forum
After the success of the first meeting of the Global Citizenship Education Higher Education Forum in March, we are pleased to invite colleagues working across higher education on the island of Ireland to take part in the second iteration of the forum, which will take place on Wednesday May 6th at 2.30 pm, 11-12.30 pm.
This is a new collaborative space for those engaged in, or interested in, advancing Global Citizenship Education across all aspects of higher education, including teaching and learning, research, professional services, student engagement and more.
The Forum aims to bring together an interdisciplinary community working across higher education institutes to share experience and learning, explore research and pedagogy, highlight good practice, and support more strategic and systemic engagement with GCE across higher education. The Forum will provide an opportunity to connect with others working in this area, reflect on GCE in the Irish higher education context, and consider how GCE can be strengthened across disciplines, departments and institutions.
Participation is open to all working across higher education institutions, including academic and professional staff and organisations, who have an interest in Global Citizenship Education in any aspect of their work. The Forum is expected to meet 3-4 times per year and is hosted under the Irish Development Education Association (IDEA), with practical support provided by IDEA staff.
The initiative is led by Dr. Gertrude Cotter (UCC), Dr. Eilish Dillon (Maynooth University) and Nina Sachau (STAND). If you are interested in joining the Forum, or would like further information, please get in touch with Nina at [email protected]. We would really welcome your perspective and participation in this new collaborative space!
