Developed alongside our How can we live together? Reflections on Peace exhibition, in collaboration with Generation Human Rights and The VII Foundation, our new toolkit helps educators bring peacebuilding, justice and human rights into learning environments, no matter what you teach.

This year’s STAND exhibition asks a simple but challenging question: how can we live together? It explores peace not as a finished outcome but as an ongoing process, shaped by memory, relationships, institutions, creativity and collective action.

The toolkit is built to sit alongside it. Inside, you'll find:

  • Pre- visit activities to prepare students for the exhibition (whether its an on-campus or virtual visit)
  • Guided activities for engaging with the exhibition itself, reading photographs critically and connecting image to context
  • Six global case study modules (Rwanda, Colombia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Northern Ireland and Afghanistan), each with background info, multimedia and discussion prompts

It is designed for lecturers and educators across humanities, social sciences, education, journalism, communications, arts and interdisciplinary studies, as well as student engagement teams and human rights or peace education practitioners. It includes activities to fit a single class, a full module, or a longer programme, whatever suits your teaching format.
