Last chance: register for the STAND Global Issues Courses at UCD and TU Dublin

This is your last chance to register for this autumn's Global Issues Courses. UCD's course starts next week, and TU Dublin's begins on 7 October. STAND's six-week introductory certified courses are for students and graduates who want to take the first steps in understanding global justice and sustainability. This year's theme is peace and reconciliation, and the course asks: how can we live together, in the aftermath of harm, across division, and in a fractured world?

• 6 week Global Issues @ UCD: Tuesdays, 29 September to 3 November, 6:30pm to 8:30pm
• 5 week Global Issues @ TU Dublin: Wednesdays, 7 October to 4 November, 6:30pm to 8:30pm (first and last sessions 6:00pm to 8:30pm)

• Setting the scene: an introduction to global issues, and why they matter
• How can we live together with the earth? Environmental justice and ecological healing, with Irene Ní Shúilleabháin
• How can we live together after harm? Transformative justice and reconciliation, drawing on South Africa's experience, with Melissa Bosch
• How can we live together when vested interests are keeping us apart? Peace and division in the North of Ireland, with Michaela Rafferty
• How can we live together when injustice remains? Justice and reconciliation in Colombia, with Alejandro Valderrama (UCD only)
• How can we live together when systems are rigged to divide? Unpacking capitalism, colonialism and the economic systems that keep us apart, with Vicky Donnelly (TU Dublin only)
• How can we live together when we don't agree on what is normal? Colonialism, power and pluralism, with a focus on Palestine, with Talha AlAli (TU Dubli only)
• Action & Imagination: "What if...we build better futures together?" with STAND
