
MEET THE TEAM
Our team of section editors work with student contributors to brainstorm ideas, review and edit articles, suggest discussion topics and finalise drafts. Made up of over 40 contributors and 9 editors, the STAND News Team is a diverse group of students and recent graduates from across Ireland with common interests in global issues, social justice and sustainable development.

Alex Mulhare
Programme Assistant Intern
Alex is our current Programme Assistant Intern at STAND News. She is currently studying a Master’s in Journalism in Dublin City University. She also has a BA in English and Film from University College Dublin. Alex is 23 and from Limerick. She has been actively involved in student newspapers and magazines throughout her time in college, with interests in politics, social justice, and the arts. In her spare time, she enjoys reading.

Conor Courtney
Diversity + Inclusion Editor
Conor Courtney is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin (B.A.) and Dublin Business School (LLB), before beginning his LLM in International Commercial Law in University College London. He currently volunteers with the Citizens Advice Bureau and the UCL Rare Dementia Legal Advice Clinic. He also sits on the OUTLaw Network Student Committee. Lockdown hobbies include baking, napping, and TikTok. He has been an editor and writer with STAND News for 3 months.

Megan Carey
Business + Politics Editor
Megan is our Business + Politics Editor. She is 21, from Dublin and in her third year of BSc Applied Social Science at NUI Galway. Megan loves the water and frequently sea-swims and occasionally kayaks and surfs. Megan enjoys writing poetry and article writing for the NUIG Style Society’s online zine Ethereal and STAND. She is part of a few NGO’s including Plan Ireland and The Surf Project and enjoys volunteering, campaigning and event organising. Megan has been working as an editor at STAND since the end of February.

Amyrose Forder
Humanitarian Editor
Amyrose is our Humanitarian Editor. She’s a final year student at Trinity College Dublin studying English. She has lived in Dublin, the midlands and the east coast of Scotland. She joined the STAND team as an outlet for her twin passions of writing and global justice. When not daydreaming about travel, Amyrose can usually be found watching TV quiz shows or bopping to Joni Mitchell.
