On the Greek island of Lesbos is the Moria refugee camp, constructed for 3,100 people but now with a population of more than 20,000 men, women and children.

Before lockdown, we met with one of the few people with first-hand experience of the camp, photojournalist Fellipe Lopes.

Episode 1 – Fellipe gives insight into the atmosphere and living conditions in Moria refugee camp.

Episode 2 – Fellipe gives insight into the hygiene, sanitation and health situation in Moria refugee camp.

On June 20th is World Refugee Day. At least 70.8 million people around the world are fleeing from their homes. Those seeking asylum in Ireland are offered accommodation by the government. This system is called Direct Provision. COVID-19 showed again how bad the circumstances for refugees are in Direct Provision centres.
